While many security cameras are designed to remain hidden, or at least out of the way, a new camera called Ulo is made to be noticed.

The little camera is shaped like an owl, and it has a two-way mirror for a beak that hides the night vision-capable camera and motion sensor. Not only that, but it also has two fairly large LCD displays for eyes, which are designed to communicate the device's status. For example, if it looks tired, you need to change the batteries. If someone is watching the livestream, it will squint, and if someone takes a picture from the app, it will blink.

In addition to these things, however, Ulo is a pretty standard security camera. It allows users to livestream the video feed to their Android or iOS device and can capture footage in either standard vision or night vision. It also has an alert setting that allows users to receive a GIF whenever the device detects movement when the user is away.

The battery in Ulo is designed to last up to a week, but it can also just stay plugged in all the time. The battery might come in handy, however, considering the fact that Ulo is rated for outdoor use as well, and will be fine in temperatures between 14 degrees and 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

So far, Ulo has raised almost $900,000 on Kickstarter, substantially more than the funding goal of $211,308. Those interested in the device will need to pledge around $160, with shipping expected for November 2016. If you're interested, you'd better act quickly, because the campaign is set to end on Dec. 5.
