Facebook's Instant Articles for iOS devices is now available in Latin America.

Facebook officially launched Instant Articles in May this year and the new feature allows publishers to provide and create content for readers without leaving the Facebook app. More than 200 publishers including National Geographic, The New York Times, The Guardian and BuzzFeed have participated in Facebook's Instant Articles.

The feature is not available in all regions. However, it has now reached Latin America for iOS users only. Facebook suggests (Google translated) that 40 media organizations from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Chile will publish content on Instant Articles. Some of the leading organizations to publish content on Instant Articles in Latin America are Telemundo, AdoroCinema, Bolsa de Mulher, Capricho, Catraca Livre and more.

According to a Facebook blog, Instant Articles creates a very interactive and convenient way of viewing content.

"Instant Articles are a fast and interactive experience for reading articles in News Feed. Powered by the same technology that loads photos and videos quickly in our mobile apps, Instant Articles display as much as ten times faster than standard mobile Web articles and feature tilt-to-pan photos, auto-play video, interactive maps, and embedded audio captions that let you explore stories in beautiful new ways," per the announcement.

Facebook has also announced the beta launch of Instant Articles across Asia.

"Expanding Instant Articles to Asia is a significant milestone for the product and for each of our early launch partners," said Andy Mitchell, the director of global media partnerships at Facebook.

Mitchell added that Facebook designed Instant Articles with the help of the extensive feedback the company received from publishers.

Facebook further noted that more than 80 percent of its users in Latin America access the platform through mobile devices. Instant Articles will offer users in Latin America a better experience and the ability to read news wherever they want.

While Instant Articles has been launched in Latin America only for iOS users, the social networking site says that the feature will arrive for Android-powered devices in the coming weeks.
