Hillary Clinton has an interesting solution for stopping ISIS — by making Silicon Valley disrupters the biggest thorns in its side.

Delivering a speech and conducting a Q&A session at the Saban Forum in Washington on Sunday, the 2016 presidential hopeful said American tech companies need to be empowered to block and shut down militant websites in order to stop terrorism from flourishing.

"You are going to hear all the familiar complaints — 'freedom of speech,'" Clinton told the media, as reported by the New York Times.

"We need to put the great disrupters at work at disrupting ISIS," she added.

This comes after Clinton spoke openly last week about social media companies such as Facebook, Snapchat and YouTube being used by terrorist groups.

A senior campaign official from the Clinton camp pointed out to the Times that Facebook regularly deletes questionable posts and has even blocked the accounts of people believed to be linked with the Islamic State. That being said, all social media powerhouses might not want to be responsible for such censoring — let alone have the resources to regularly weed out such posts on a consistent basis.

Such activity also brings up other concerns.

"Declaring war on Islam, or demonizing the Muslim community, is not only counter to our values ... it plays right into the hands of the terrorists," Clinton said.

Even with Clinton openly calling on Silicon Valley disrupters to step up to the plate and help with efforts, will such tech companies do so?
