The Pirate Bay has long been the pinnacle of illegal downloads on the Internet. However, to take advantage of what the website has to offer, users had to do so via their computer web browsers, but that isn't the case anymore. The Pirate Bay has gone mobile, and we're certain the website will see increased downloads in the coming weeks.

The new mobile version of The Pirate Bay is geared towards folks on smartphones and tablets. Fittingly enough, the new site is called The Mobile Bay, and it is designed to make it easier for mobile users to download the same content they can download on the desktop version of the website.

In addition to creating a new website for mobile devices, the current owners of The Pirate Bay discussed plans to create separate versions of the site for movies, TV, and music. These websites will be designed with special features to make pirating easier and seamless than before.

For example, users would have the ability to download a season in blocks, or all episodes of a show at once. It's pretty impressive, and it also shows how much The Pirate Bay is improving for the future by making things easier for users.

Some might wonder if it is a good idea for the guys behind the website to make plans for the future. Well, we say, why not? Founders Peter Sunde and Gottfrid Svartholm are currently in prison, but that didn't put The Pirate Bay out of business. Furthermore, Netherlands ISPs KPN, UPC, XS4AII, and Ziggo have all lifted their bans on the website, making it almost legal for users to download content. This is a clear sign that The Pirate Bay might be here for another decade or more.

Still, despite all the good news, folks in the United States may one day have to choose freedom over using The Pirate Bay for illegal means. The politicians in the country are aiming to make downloading content illegally a criminal offense. If it is passed, we would likely see a massive crackdown on illegal downloaders across the country, and several might spend years in prison.

With all the new features The Pirate Bay is releasing these days, folks in the United States should control their excitement for a little while, because they may never get to give these features a spin.
