Maryland-based Bethesda just announced a new satellite campus in Montreal. The new development studio already has over 40 developers on its payroll, but it's still looking to bring in more man and woman power.

The new studio in the French Canadian city will enable Bethesda to bolster its ability to develop well-received games, such as Fallout 4, for PC, consoles and mobile.

"It's exciting to think about the new games we'll be building together," said Todd Howard, game director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios. "We've worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there."

The new studio will be helmed by Yves Lachance as the studio director. He has been serving as senior vice president and a developer at another Montreal development studio, Behaviour Interactive — the studio that has been chipping in art for Star Citizen.

"Our collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios has been an exhilarating and memorable journey already," said Lachance. He is also excited that the talents in Montreal will now have a chance to be part of the Bethesda Game Studios.

Though the new studio already has more than 40 developers on board, Bethesda wants more. And it's looking for more hands and bright minds for its headquarters in Rockville, Md. — it used to be in Bethesda, Md.

"Every day we wake up, get ready, then head to work... but once we arrive and settle in at our desks, it's easy to forget this is a job," says Gary Steinman, Global PR and marketing content lead at Bethesda Softworks.

The company takes pride in fostering a work environment that is like a family, not only at the corporate center alone, but also in nine studios for game development around the world.

Anyone who is interested to be part of Bethesda can access the job listings and choose among which studios and departments have opening. Currently, for Bethesda Game Studios alone, there are open posts for programmers, designers, artists and analysts. One can opt to send in a general application too.
