Boost Mobile now has its own unlimited music streaming offer, while Virgin Mobile just improved its existing offer by adding a couple more options.

As we get deeper into the cloud, storing data locally on your device is starting to feel more like a burden than a convenience. Cloud storage is more convenient in most cases, but when it comes to music, users didn't have too many options until recently. If you wanted to enjoy your favorite tunes while on the go, you had to store them locally on the device.

That has started to change, however, as more carriers are now upping their game in terms of music streaming, allowing users to stream music without draining their data allowances.

T-Mobile made waves with its Uncarrier "Music Freedom" offer, where music streaming doesn't count against one's data allowance. Other carriers are now boosting their efforts to rival T-Mobile's offer, and this competition is definitely bringing benefits to consumers.

For the first time, Boost Mobile is now offering its own unlimited music streaming features that don't affect one's data. So far, Boost offered unlimited data, but with one caveat: once the user went through a certain amount of data, the carrier would throttle the speed.

The new unlimited music streaming offer from Boost Mobile now allows users to stream from a number of music apps and the data won't count against their allowance, nor will it involve any throttling.

"Now you can stream music through your Boost Mobile smartphone without it counting against your high-speed data allotment," boasts the carrier. "Tune in, sit back and listen all you want without worrying about running out of high-speed data."

Supported services for unlimited music streaming on Boost Mobile include Pandora, iHeartRadio, 8tracks, Slacker Radio, and Samsung Milk Music for now. Moreover, Boost is working on adding more options, so the list should expand soon enough.

Virgin Mobile, meanwhile, already offered unlimited music streaming, but it just got better. The carrier added Samsung Milk Music and 8tracks to its list of supported services, offering more options for users.

"This past October Virgin Mobile USA unveiled unlimited data-free music streaming for customers, and now we are adding more music partners! Beginning today, 8tracks and Samsung Milk Music join Pandora, iHeartRadio and Slacker Radio with Data-Free2 Music streaming on Virgin Mobile Unlimited plans," Virgin announced.
