Google's Pixel C tablet started shipping to buyers, and the tech giant wants to offer its slate clients the same level of support as with the Nexus devices.

In a recent Reddit "Ask Me Anything" thread, the developing team behind the high-end tablet got a number of questions from users.

"Will the Pixel C be supported by AOSP and/or have factory images available like Nexus devices? Will we be able to unlock the bootloader and alter the OS?" user xanderlent wondered.

The Google team replied with a strong affirmative, pointing out that coders will be able to do a lot of customization on the tablet. As proof, the team kept its promise and released factory images for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for the tablet.

Even if we are talking about entirely different products, the factory images for the Pixel C tablet and Nexus smartphones are on the same webpage.

The Pixel C tablet arrived on the Google Store on Dec. 8 and users from the United States, Australia, Asia and Europe were able to order it right away. Although it is improbable that in only three days, coding enthusiasts from around the world can make severe modifications to Google's slate, it is reassuring that the factory images are live, making a full restore possible.

The slate, codenamed 'Ryu', received two images, both based on Android 6.0.1. However, they come with distinct build numbers MXB48K and MXB48J, respectively.

Google also published the binaries for the Pixel C, thus allowing coders to develop custom ROMs for the premium tablet.

If you are one of those Android fans who bought the tablet and tweaked it beyond the call of duty, you may want to restore the factory settings.

It is easy to do so by visiting the Google Developers page, where you can find the factory images that will take your device back to its default settings. Alternatively, users can download the factory image for MXB48J here and MXB48K here
