A leaked HTC Android Marshmallow update roadmap shows that HTC wants users of its devices to benefit from Android Marshmallow soon.

HTC had already established that its unlocked One M9 and One A9 are slated to get Marshmallow updates within the month. However, there is no official word from HTC as to when the other devices are going to receive similar updates.

Thanks to HTC leakster LlabTooFeR, we get a glimpse of which HTC handsets are going to be treated with Android's latest version in the succeeding months.

It is worth noting that the One M7 is will not be receiving the update as it is considered an end-of-life device and therefore will no longer be supported by HTC. However, the device will still continue to get a few necessary security patches.

First Quarter

HTC will roll out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to these handsets during the first quarter of the coming year: HTC One M9 ME, HTC One M9+, HTC One M9 Supreme, HTC One M8s and HTC One M8.

Second Quarter

Marshmallow will arrive on the following devices by the second quarter of 2016: HTC Butterfly 2, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 820, HTC Desire 526, HTC Desire 626, HTC Desire 816 and HTC Desire 826.

Note though that Desire EYE is still under evaluation. This means that there is still a possibility that it could get Android 6.0.1.

While dual-SIM HTC handsets may also be upgraded with Android Marshmallow, users should, nevertheless, anticipate that there is going to be a one- to three-month delay from the single-SIM models.

Owners, however, of low-end handsets, like the Desire 310, HTC Desire 526G and other models which run KitKat will not be given Lollipop or Marshmallow updates.

To sum things up, midrange and high-end devices which were launched from 2014 through 2015 will receive Android Marshmallow updates during the first and the second quarter of the coming year.

The handset maker has yet to release its official word to verify the veracity of this leaked update roadmap.

Since data is based on hearsay, it is best if we take this story with a grain of salt.
