If you are a fan of Marvel films, you have been conditioned to look for clues throughout the movie and stay after the credits for a sneak peak at what is coming next. If you've seen a Marvel movie once then you likely enjoyed it, but if you've seen it twice you might have caught a few more surprises hiding in the background. Hidden in each film for fans in the know and comic book junkies are hints at future movies, characters and cameos that often times can be missed in the first viewing, and only add to the ever-expanding canvas that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Don't worry, though, if the references go completely over your head. The folks over at MTV News have done the internet a great service by compiling all (or most) of the various Easter eggs hidden throughout the Marvel films and explaining each one briefly in a new 12-minute long video, narrated by Josh Horowitz of MTV News.

Many a Marvel fan caught a glimpse of Captain America's shield in the first "Iron Man," but at the time nobody really expected to see a "Captain America" film. Since then, fans have learned that Marvel, more often than not, inserts the Easter eggs for good reason, providing just a hint, however so small, as to what the future might hold. We were first teased on the idea of the Avengers in "Iron Man 2" with a map in the background showing the location of each future team member, and what do you know, a few years later "The Avengers" is one of the most successful films in history. We also first got a glimpse of the Infinity Gauntlet in "Thor," locked away deep in Odin's vault of relics. With the release of "Guardians of the Galaxy" opening up a whole new cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is safe to say we haven't seen the last of the gauntlet.

The video moves at a quick pace, as it has a ton of ground to cover. It does not, however, cover Easter eggs hidden in the two most recent Marvel films, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Guardians of the Galaxy," both which continue the Easter egg filled trend. You will just have to find those yourself. So if you want to get caught up to speed on just how sneaky Marvel movie directors can be, give the video a watch. Even die-hard fans you are likely to discover something new.
