Samsung hasn't made any confirmations yet but it appears the company has already sent out invites for the launch of the Galaxy Note 4, according to SamMobile.

Last week, reports surfaced that Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy Note 4 at the IFA in Berlin. Now SamMobile is reporting that invites have been sent out for the event. While invite doesn't specifically mention the Note 4, Samsung has traditionally turned to the trade show for launching its Note devices (the Note 2 in 2012 and the Note 3 in 2013) so it was natural to assume that the Note 4 will be making its first official appearance there as well.

Both posts on the SamMobile site and Twitter account about the invite have been taken down but it is already making its rounds online. The event, called "Unpacked 2014," will be from September 3 to 5, ending with a keynote.

The Note 4 is attracting a lot of attention for Samsung because it has a lot riding on the device. Aside from simply generating buzz because it will be the newest iteration of the company's phablet, the Note 4 may also be responsible for a dramatic change within Samsung in the year.

It is no secret that the company has struggled for several quarters now, posting loss after loss due to heavy competition from Chinese manufacturers churning out cheaper Android devices. Not to mention that there's also Apple to contend with, who will be releasing two variants of the iPhone 6 this year.

With Apple traditionally choosing September as well to launch its products, it is a good move on Samsung's part to announce the Note 4 in advance to take advantage of a window wherein it won't have competition.

Speculations are still flying around regarding the specs of the Note 4 but nothing will be final until the phablet has actually been unveiled. Whatever these specs may be, it is expected that Samsung has developed the Note 4 to a point that it will pack nothing less than a punch when it is revealed. At the very least, the phablet should be fitted with the same processor and RAM as the Note 3.

Other products Samsung is expected to unveil at the IFA is the Galaxy Blink, a rival to Google Glass; the Gear S, a smartwatch; and a smart home platform.
