The Genworth Aging Experience was one of the weirder PR pitches among the literal hundreds I received in the lead-up to CES.

"Genworth's Exoskeleton Ages You 40 Years in Minutes" — seriously, I thought it was a typo at first. Surely, no one would want to harness the power of technology to advance the aging process, right?

Turns out it's a really smart ploy from an insurance company. Put on the extremely complex body suit and take a stroll on the treadmill, and the system-simulated R70i Age Suit ratchets up the old decades.

The system applies mechanical resistance to the wearer's arms, legs and hips, slowing them down just as the inevitable creep of father time soon will. The sense of impending dread associated with the recognition of one's mortality is really just an added bonus.

CES' most bizarre VR experience is set to tour the country, and will likely sell a few Genworth insurance plans in the process.
