Ubisoft is continuing to improve the Rainbow Six Siege experience, this time with an update focused on improving the game's multiplayer matchmaking.

Patch 1.2 is live for all PC players and includes a number of improvements. For starters, Ubisoft says players can expect to be matched with more evenly-skilled opponents. In addition, the game will now look closer at pre-made parties when creating matches, with an emphasis on matching players in a party against teams of other equally-numbered parties.

Players can expect better ping times thanks to matchmaking now placing an emphasis on matching together players who are using the same data center, and will also see more accurate estimated wait times while searching for a match in matchmaking lobbies. PC players can change their default data center as well.

A number of "community-raised" bug fixes have also been addressed. These are various bugs players have discovered while playing the game and brought to Ubisoft's attention. The patch notes only highlight top community-raised fixes, but Ubisoft says it is not an exhaustive list of all bugs addressed in the patch.

The patch was released for PC players first "because of the faster deployment process, in order to test the impact the fixes have and adjust if needed." Console players will be receiving the update on Jan. 14. Ubisoft hopes to release update 1.3 by the end of January, with update 2.0 coming in February, in the process addressing more of the community's top issues.

Rainbow Six Siege's last patch addressed the game's team-killing problem and added a number of additional improvements. In other Rainbow Six Siege news, the game's first DLC pack, Operation Black Ice, has been delayed until February. You can read more about that here.
