Wheeled luggage made getting around an airport a heck of a lot easier, but you still have to actually wheel the thing around. It's an apparent problem that Israeli startup NUA Robotics intends to solve with its mechanical carry-on bag, which utilizes a built-in camera sensor in order to follow users around like a loyal pet, automatically avoiding obstacles and catching up when it lags behind.

The near-futuristic suitcase has a few other interesting features on board, including the ability to recharge devices from its own power source and a built-in anti-theft alarm. Users can also monitor real-time data via smartphone, including the weight of the luggage, and can keep tabs on its location.

There are still some kinks to work out before the company's ready to unleash the luggage onto the world in about a year or so. There's also no word yet on pricing.
