Add two more playable characters-slash-collectible figurines to the Disney Infinity 2.0 roster. While most of the game is centered around the addition of various Marvel superheroes, Avalanche Software has taken the opportunity to expand the classic Disney character lineup as well.

In addition to the classic characters already revealed, which include Tinkerbell, Stitch, Merida and Maleficent, Disney has today announced that Aladdin and Jasmine will be available for the game as well. (Sorry, no Genie.) All three known Playsets for Infinity 2.0 are themed around Marvel characters, so don't bother hoping for an "Aladdin" Playset. But both Aladdin and Jasmine get unique abilities as well as several Aladdin-themed Power Discs that work in Toy Box mode. Reportedly, these two characters are being added in response to fan requests, much like the aforementioned classics.

Aladdin wields a scimitar sword and his trusty magic lamp, which according to the new gameplay video below, looks like it sucks up villains similar to a Ghostbusters trap. Jasmine, who in the movie uses no weapons and has no special powers to speak of, is getting a bit of an upgrade to allow her to keep up with all those Marvel supers and Disney cartoon heroes. Jasmine will use a magic carpet for flying and desert winds to fight baddies, which she "summons" to use in battle. She also seems to sport some kung-fu-like skills.

With these two additions, it's starting to look like the Disney Infinity 2.0 roster is nearly complete. The 27 characters confirmed to be playable/collectible in the new game include: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Loki, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, Iron Fist, Nova, Venom, Green Goblin, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Ronan the Accuser, Merida ("Brave"), Maleficent, Stitch, Tinkerbell, Baymax ("Big Hero 6"), and now Aladdin and Jasmine. Also rumored to be included are Hiro Hamada from "Big Hero 6" and Disney favorite Donald Duck. That would round out the cast at 29 playable characters — which happens to be the exact number that the original Disney Infinity had.

Aladdin and Jasmine are expected to be part of the game's second wave of releases.

In related news, game producer John Vignocchi recently announced on Twitter that Disney Infinity 2.0 has gone gold and been approved for worldwide release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
