And now, we enter the lull.

For years, Star Wars fans were eagerly awaiting the arrival of The Force Awakens - and they were rewarded for their patience. The movie is one of the highest-grossing films of all time, and actually managed to bring Star Wars back into the pop culture mainstream - it's about as universal a success as anyone could hope for.

The only problem is, now that everyone's seen The Force Awakens in theaters, the realization that the next big Star Wars project is still eleven months away is starting to sink in. Granted, that's a lot less time than Star Wars fans are used to waiting, but even so - The Force Awakens was so good, and now the idea of waiting another year for quality Star Wars content sounds downright painful.

Thankfully, Sony is helping to soften the blow a bit: three classic Star Wars games from the PlayStation 2 era are now available on the PlayStation 4 store - and, as with all backwards compatible titles, each game has received a bit of a facelift.

To be fair, these aren't full remasterings of PS2 games - instead, they've been updated to run at a full 1080p. It may sound like a small change (or technical mumbo-jumbo) but it makes a big difference in the long run - trying to play an original PS2 game on a 50-inch TV just wouldn't be worth it. With the upscaling to 1080p, you'll actually be able to see what's going on.

As for the titles themselves, Sony has released Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Racer Revenge and Bounty Hunter. While all of the games have their own nostalgic significance, it's hard to beat Bounty Hunter: Jango Fett was the best part of Episode II (some would say he's the only part of that movie worth watching) and the game is basically his life story. Who wouldn't want to strap on some Mandalorian armor and a jetpack?

The best part is that Star Wars fans don't have to wait for these titles to hit the PlayStation store - as a matter of fact, they're already there. That's right: Bounty Hunter, Racer Revenge and Jedi Starfighter are available now on PlayStation 4 consoles everywhere for $10 a piece.
