Star Wars Battlefront is about to get an update this month, with new content being released as part of the video game's Season Pass, but new information is surfacing about separate downloadable content that will be available for free.

EA community manager Mat Everett previously confirmed that a Battlefront update will be released sometime in January, although he could not give a specific day, date or time. However, he did reveal the "first drop of free additional content" will come this month as well.

And now rumors are swirling that the Star Wars Battlefront free DLC packs will feature a new map for the planet Tatooine, as well as new costumes for both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.

According to WCCFTech, EA Brazil released a video that announced the new content, but which has since been removed. The video is said to have featured details about the new Tatooine map, as well as the new character outfits, new daily challenges and private matches.

These DLC packs will be separate from the content that will be released for Season Pass holders.

EA and DICE previously released the Battle of Jakku DLC for free, which included two new maps and a new 40-player game mode called Turning Point. The DLC was first released to those who preordered Battlefront, and then became available to all players for free on Dec. 8, 2015.

Star Wars Battlefront is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
