Latest rumors suggest that Samsung may release the highly-anticipated Galaxy S7 smartphone on March 11 in the U.S.

Samsung has not officially announced the launch date of the Galaxy S7. However, as Samsung has announced previous handsets in the Galaxy S series at the Mobile World Congress, it is highly likely that the smartphone maker will showcase the Galaxy S7 at the 2016 MWC starting on Feb. 22 in Barcelona.

Galaxy S6 was launched at the MWC in early March 2015 and the handset was initially released in 20 countries on April 10, 2015. A latest tweet from famous leakster Evan Blass, or @evleaks, suggests that the Galaxy S7 will release on March 11 in the U.S.

While the tweet specifies the handset's release date for the U.S., it does not suggest that the Galaxy S7 will be released only in the U.S. on March 11. The device may hit the U.S. as well as other markets on the purported date.

Some reports also speculate that the Korean company may launch the device before the 2016 MWC. Launching the Galaxy S7 before the MWC should not come as a surprise as Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 in August 2015, which was nearly a month before than the IFA event where Samsung normally reveals the Note series.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge at the 2015 MWC but the Galaxy S6 edge+ made an appearance in August 2015. A previous report suggests that this year Samsung may launch all the three smartphones: the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge and the Galaxy S7 edge+ at one big event. With the launch of all the phones in the Galaxy S7 series, Samsung will have enough time to focus on the Galaxy Note series in the second half of the year.

Some hardware specs found on the three phones are likely to be the same such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge may sport a 5.1-inch display, same as its predecessors. However, the Galaxy S7 edge+ may boast a slightly bigger 5.7-inch screen in comparison to the 5.5-inch one of the Galaxy S6 edge+.

Probably, all the three Samsung offerings will come running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box.

Samsung has not yet revealed the launch date or the hardware specs of the upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphones. As such, customers will have to wait until the official launch event where the company will unveil the hardware specs as well as the release date of its smartphones in various regions.
