Microsoft is expected to announce a new Windows 10 Mobile smartphone in February. Even though the Lumia 650 hasn't been announced, it's already available for preorder from a UK-based retailer.

When it comes to making a name for itself in the smartphone world and getting customers to actually buy handsets, Microsoft hasn't seen the same kind of success rivals like Apple, Samsung, and Google have. The company is rumored to be working on a new smartphone that will become a part of its Surface family, which has been a success for Microsoft.

While it's putting the finishing touches on its Surface smartphone, the company still has at least one new smartphone on the horizon. The Lumia 650 has already passed through the FCC, signaling an imminent release and carrier support in the United States.

Microsoft is rumored to make the Lumia 650 official in early February, but that hasn't stopped a UK-based retailer from posting images of the smartphone and offering it for preorder. Mobile Fun has listed the Lumia 650 for £199.00 ($283.99).

The Lumia 650 will feature a 5-inch 1,280 x 720 display and is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor and 1 GB of RAM. The handset includes 8 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128 GB microSD cards. It runs Microsoft's Windows 10 Mobile out of the box.

The Lumia 650 will boast an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. The smartphone will include an FM radio, 4G LTE support and a 2,000 mAh battery.

As you can tell from the specs, the Lumia 650 is a midrange device and will be marketed as an affordable Windows 10 Mobile handset. It will join the flagship Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL in Microsoft's smartphone lineup.
