Insomniac Games has published a trailer that suggests an upcoming underwater adventure game, teasing fans of its next project.

By "teasing," it means that the game developer designed the video to leave a lot to the imagination. Sure, there are undersea creatures and plants and things that appear to be sunken manmade structures along with the vague message "dive deeper" and the release date of Jan. 28 at 8:30 a.m. CT, but those things don't really explain much of what's in store – well, when it'll be unveiled is quite clear, at least.

Considering those aspects, it is aptly titled "What's Next?" The forty-second teaser starts out under the sea, where the camera continues to sink deeper and deeper until it reaches the bottom filled with what seems to be the ruins of something.

For those who don't know, Insomniac Games is the maker of the widely known Ratchet & Clank series and Sunset Overdrive. It has ventured into the mobile games market with titles such as Bad Dinos, Digit & Dash, Fruit Fusion and Outernauts a few years back.

Based on the graphics and the developer's history in mobile gaming, there's more or less a pretty good chance that this underwater game will be released on that platform.

Other projects that Insomniac Games plans to roll out in the near future include the new Ratchet & Clank for the PS4 and an action-packed virtual reality game called Edge of Nowhere for the Oculus Rift.

For Ratchet & Clank, the re-imagined version features new boss fights, planets and flight sequences, to name a few, along with visual improvements across the board to "take advantage of the power of the PS4."

Going over Edge of Nowhere, players are set in the virtual reality world, where they have the task of traveling to the Antarctic mountains to locate a missing expedition team. Of course, there's more to the game than meets the eye, as things will take a turn for the worse, plunging the players into a "surreal world that will test [their] wits and sanity."

With all said and done, we can safely expect a lot from Insomniac Games for years to come, ranging from console and mobile games to virtual reality titles.

Hit up the "What's Next?" trailer below and join in the legions of fans who are wondering what's about to come.
