Today at Gamescom 2014, Activision announced that Skylanders is going mobile. When Skylanders Trap Team launches in October, versions will also be released for iPad, Kindle Fire and Android tablets.

Here's the part kids are going to go nuts about: the tablet version provides the same exact experience as playing on consoles. The full Trap Team game is included in the tablet version; it's not a smaller or "remastered" or abbreviated version. It's the whole thing. What's more, tablet players will enjoy graphics fidelity on par with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 graphics.

The Skylanders Trap Team - Tablet Starter Pack comes with a "Traptanium Portal" and a game controller similar to one you'd use on a console. No need to worry about cords or ports; both devices connect to tablets via Bluetooth. They're joined by two Skylanders characters, two Traps, a display tray for trapped villains, and a convenient tablet stand.

Say you've already purchased Trap Team characters to play on your Xbox or PlayStation. Those toys are fully compatible with the tablet edition and its Traptanium Portal, and will import all of your acquired skills and upgrades. And if you don't want to use the included Bluetooth controller with the game, the tablet edition also offers the option to play the game with touch controls.

This will be the first time ever that gamers will be able to take the full version of a Skylanders game on-the-go. Skylanders Trap Team launches on October 5, 2014.
