Samsung smartphone users will now have a more pleasurable experience while surfing the Internet.

BBC News is reporting that the updated version of Samsung's Android phones' Web browser now supports ad-blocking plugins. This follows Apple enabling ad-blockers as extensions for its Safari browser last September.

"Those who use ad-blockers will likely use other browsers than the default one," IHS advertising industry analyst Daniel Knapp told BBC News. "It's nonetheless important for Samsung to jump on the ad-blocking bandwagon. It wants to show customers that it is a premium brand that protects them as well as Apple."

He added: "I think it's an expression of massive consumer dissatisfaction with the way the ad industry works."

He could say that again. The Verge is additionally reporting that, starting Monday, Samsung's updated Internet browser is available on the company's smartphones that run Android Marshmallow. From there, Lollipop availability and support for ad-blocking programs is expected to follow in the coming months.

Already, Samsung smartphone users can add ad-blocking programs, such as Adblock Fast and Crystal. The former content blocker, which is also available for iOS users, lowers load times for Android users by an average of 51 percent, according to the Verge.

It's also free of charge, already counting 200,000 users.
