The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge U.S. variants will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The Galaxy S7 with that chip has just made an appearance on AnTuTu benchmarks.

With Feb. 21 fast approaching, details regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge continue to make news on a daily basis. We've already heard how much the new flagship smartphones are expected to cost when they go on sale. Just like last year's Galaxy S6 Edge, customers can expect to spend more to get their hands on the dual-edge curved display smartphone, and this year the S7 Edge will boast an even larger 5.5-inch display when compared to that of its predecessors' 5.1-inch screen.

A leaked internal Samsung presentation slide confirmed some of the Galaxy S7's specs, while comparing it to the Galaxy S6 and S5. Recently, we reported that it appears as if Samsung has settled on an official release date for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which is slated to be Friday, March 11. All four major U.S. carriers will offer the pair powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 processor, while other regions will get devices powered by a Samsung Exynos 8890 chip.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 820-equipped Galaxy S7 just made an appearance on AnTuTu benchmark and a screenshot was posted online. The smartphone received a score of 125,288 a much higher score compared to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, which scored about 82,000 using the same benchmark.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to feature a 5.1-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD Super AMOLED display, will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU (graphics processing unit), and 4 GB of RAM. The handset will be offered with either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot.

The Galaxy S7 is believed to include a 12-megapixel BRITECELL rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. Samsung plans on making up for the relatively short battery life of last year's Galaxy S6 by using a larger 3,000 mAh battery.
