Steam selling videos isn't exactly new. It's one of Valve's latest efforts to continue diversifying and expanding its digital storefront, but so, far the number of videos, whether they be movies, documentaries or television shows, are fairly limited.

If, however, you fancy yourself an anime fan, what happened yesterday may be a major sign of things to come. Steam got not one, not two, but 10 Naruto films on Feb. 4. They include Naruto: The Movie, Naruto Shippuden: The Movie, The Last — Naruto the Movie and many, many more.

Each film can be rented for $3.99 or purchased for $9.09 after a special 30 percent discount that is currently running for all the Naruto films until March 1. The films will regularly sell for $12.99.

Naruto is certainly one of the more popular anime in North America, and Steam has become a haven of sorts for anime-inspired JRPGs and dating sims that are difficult to find anywhere else. It makes perfect sense then for Valve's store to sell anime to the masses, but it remains to be seen if other shows or films will be making their way to Steam's digital storefront in the near future.

While the Naruto films aren't the first anime to be featured on the site, they are by far the most prominent. Prior to Naruto, there were only five other videos available under the anime tag. Few other videos in general on Steam have been available for rent, but renting is an option for all 10 of the Naruto movies as well. Believe it!

All Naruto jokes aside, it's interesting to see what could come next for Steam in terms of the service's video options. Aside from Crunchyroll, there isn't much of a dedicated place to find good anime, especially if you're looking to purchase. Steam could fit that niche nicely, but we'll have to wait and see what the future has in store.
