Marcelo Claure, the new CEO of Sprint, is not wasting any time in fulfilling the promises that he made upon his appointment.

During a town hall call that includes all Sprint employees, Claure reportedly said that the company will be rolling out "very disruptive" price cuts by as soon as the following week, which will be phase one of his plans.

"We're going to change our plans to make sure they are simple and attractive and make sure every customer in America thinks twice about signing up to a competitor," Claure said.

Lower prices will allow Sprint to more readily compete with its rivals in the industry and increase user growth.

Claure, while not elaborating on the new price structures with specific details, said that once the price cuts are implemented, wants Sprint dealers to immediately begin reaching out to homes to begin selling, backed by support from the company.

Much of what Claure said in the town hall call focused on the true situation of the company, admitting that Sprint has had most negative comments on social media as the company was slow to react to changes in the industry. Claure, however, lauds the tremendous value of the company's spectrum holdings and its great employees, which he knows will allow Sprint to challenge AT&T and Verizon Wireless in the future.

Phase two of Claure's plan then would be to leverage Sprint's spectrum to challenge as the best network in America.

"I want to make sure we're the incumbent challenger," Claure said. "We don't want the status quo."

Phase three involves the company having the lowest cost of service, and Claure was asked if job cuts were on the horizon due to this phase. Claure was honest and said that they are inevitable, but added that the extent of job cuts had not yet been determined.

Suffice to say, Claure has huge plans for Sprint, already making such a huge splash among his employees on the fourth day on the job. Claure's dealings have not only been internal though, as the new CEO met with Apple CEO Tim Cook on his first day, as he believes that "Apple will become a crucial part of Sprint."

Claure was the founder of Brightstar, a mobile phone distribution company. His appointment to the CEO position of Sprint comes after a failed attempt to merge with T-Mobile US Inc. due to regulatory issues.

Claure replaces Dan Hesse, who had served as the CEO of the company since 2007.
