Ahead of its big reveal at the Mobile World Congress on Feb. 21, LG's upcoming standard bearer, the G5, appears to have been profiled on Geekbench.

Something going by the name "LGE LG-F700S" has appeared in the visitor's lounge on the processor benchmarking platform. And considering LG used the string "F500" for the G4 and "F400" for the V10, it follows that this "F700" handset is the soon-to-be unveiled G5.

Whatever this handset is, it's packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and a four pack of RAM. The 820 offers more confirmation that this is in fact the G5, as that processor is the flagship material for phones coming out this year.

Rounding out the bits of Geekbench details  have revealed about the phone, the handset will also run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

LG has scheduled an invite-only event to showcase the G5 in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 21.

"Come meet new friends on the playground," the company states in its LG G5 Day invitations.

Along with the Snapdragon 820 and 4 GB of RAM, the LG G5 will have an all-metal design and will feature edge notification a la Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Instead of choosing a side, like the S6 Edge, the G5's notifications will run along the bottom edge of the phone below its display.

While there's still about a week's wait before LG will be ready to talk and confirm specs, the company has already been taking up the G5's all-new Quick Cover. Iterating on the previous Quick Cover, the new semitransparent mesh cover will include the touch support delivered with the K10 and streamlines the accessory's call and control settings, according to LG.

"Users of the case can check the time, date and notifications on the Always-on Display of the yet unseen LG G5 even with the cover closed," LG says. "LG also incorporated a unique film with a glossy metallic finish to enhance the smooth and luxurious look and feel of the cover for maximum consistency with the speculative LG G5."

The G5 is also expected to have a 20-megapixel rear camera with a half-inch sensor. Soon enough all will be revealed.
