Following a patch that prettied up the visuals across all platforms, Bethesda is promising a New Vegas-like overhaul of Fallout 4's Survival mode. About a minute before tweeting that tidbit, Bethesda announced that it's just about ready to talk details on the DLC.

The Survival mode, as it stands now, only ups the ante in making enemies healthier and harder hitting, while slowing down the heal time of player characters. Well, the game mode should seem a bit more like a survival challenge in the near future.

Bethesda is working on food, sleep, diseases, new dangers and more to make the Survival mode more of a challenge.

Along with a deeper Survival mode, Fallout 4 will also get some DLC soon.

"We know you're ready to learn what's coming for Fallout 4 DLC. We're not far off, and we think you'll be excited," Bethesda tweeted on Thursday.

Bethesda is already offering a $30 season pass on presale right now. The game maker is anticipating releasing DLC that it thinks will be worth at least $40. This is based on the DLC it did for Fallout 3, Skyrim and Oblivion, which would justify the $30 ticket for whatever it concocts for Fallout 4.

"Since we're still hard at work on the game, we don't know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year," Bethesda said last fall. "[I]f we do more, you'll get it all with the Season Pass."

While awaiting the Survival mode improvement, the new packet of patches, update 1.3, is worth a look for those who have stepped away from the game for a while. Check out these patch notes for details.
