Gadget enthusiasts who are awaiting the launch of the Moto 360, the Android-powered smartwatch from Motorola, will be delighted to learn that Best Buy accidentally revealed the specs of the device prior to its official unveiling.

The Moto 360 is gearing up for a launch on September 4 at an event in Chicago. However, e-retailer Best Buy let the cat out of the bad by listing the Moto 360 for $249.99 on its website, ahead of the official launch.

On Sunday, August 17, Best Buy posted the specifications of the Moto 360, which has since been pulled down. However, the folks at Droid Life managed to get a screenshot of the listing which said "coming soon." The smartwatch had the SKU 8307143 and its model number was 00419NARTL per the site.

According to the Best Buy listing, the smartwatch will have a tag price of $249.99. The Moto 360 will boast a 1.5-inch backlit LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels and a pixel density of 205 ppi. The smartwatch will measure 1.8 x 1.8 x 0.4 inches and weighs 0.13 lbs (2.1 oz).

The voice-activated Motorola 360's screen will be quite sturdy thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the stainless steel case. While the rear will be made of plastic, the Horween leather band is adjustable and the metal buckle will ensure a perfect fit.

The device is also said to pack in an optical heart rate monitor and pedometer for the fitness conscious. Moreover, the smartwatch will be waterproof for up to 3.3 inches for nearly 30 minutes.

The Moto 360 will also sport a lithium-ion battery pack and have a battery indicator to point out the low battery level. It will also house a Texas Instrument processor and 512MB of RAM.

The smartwatch will be compatible with devices running Android 4.3 or above. The Moto 360 will also tout Bluetooth 4.0 to facilitate wireless syncing.

If the pricing reflected by the Best Buy listing is legit, then the Moto 360's pricing will be steeper than the Samsung Gear Live and LG's G Watch, which cost $199.99 and $299, respectively.

The exact date of release of the Moto 360 smartwatch is not known. However, judging by the Best Buy slip-up, it seems that the release of the device is not far, likely near to the Sept. 4 launch.
