It's been a long time coming, but the wait for the next Uncharted is almost over. After months of waiting and multiple delays, the game is set to launch in late April.

That being said, the game's launch will likely be bittersweet for many Uncharted fans: ever since the original game hit the PlayStation 3, Nathan Drake and his merry band of adventurers have been the poster children for both Naughty Dog and Sony. While Uncharted 4: A Thief's End doesn't necessarily mean the end for the franchise as a whole, there's no denying that the game is basically a fond farewell to Nate, Sully and Elena.

Naughty Dog isn't exactly being shy about it, either: each trailer is more somber than the last, and there's this lingering sense of dread surrounding the game. True, the Uncharted games have always been relatively lighthearted, and the series has always avoided killing off its main characters ... but there's an uneasy finality about Uncharted 4, and nowhere is that more evident than with the game's Story Trailer:

Players have known for some time that family would play a big role in Uncharted 4, but the game's Story Trailer puts it at the forefront. On one side, Nate's got his longtime companions Elena and Sully — on the other, he's got his brother Sam urging him to return to a life of adventuring. Obviously, Sam is able to convince Nate to some degree, as the gameplay shows off plenty of the series' signature action set pieces ... but it's also starting to look like A Thief's End could be the most story-heavy game of the series.

Additionally, while the focus on the relationship between Sam and Nate is great, Naughty Dog has finally given the game's villains a bit of the spotlight. In all likelihood, these villains will end up playing a secondary role to Nathan's own story, but it's nice to see them up close for a change — and Nadine's hair is looking fantastic.

One way or the other, Nathan Drake's long journey is about to come to an end: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is set to launch on April 26.
