OnePlus X, the latest flagship phone from OnePlus, recently received OxygenOS 2.2.0, but the update brought problems with it.

A number of users complained that after they upgraded their mobile operating system, phone images were corrupted. The manufacturer reacted and released a hotfix for the OnePlus X camera last Friday.

One thing that OxygenOS 2.2.0 did was that it offered manual camera controls to the standard camera app.

A forum administrator delivered the news about OnePlus's initiative.

"We are pushing out a hotfix for the image corruption issue some of you have been seeing with the OnePlus Camera after the last update," the post reads. It goes on to apologize for the caused inconvenience and says the company expects that the imagery issues will disappear after users install the hotfix.

It should be noted that the update will not reach all OnePlus X owners simultaneously, so if your overseas friends received it and you did not, be patient. With the hotfix, OnePlus X's configuration will still show OxygenOS 2.2.0 as its OS. The patch weighs 9.5 MB.

In February, Indian fans of the smartphone could finally get the phone without an invite.

This is part of a broader strategy from OnePlus, which aims to make OnePlus X available in multiple global markets without requiring an invite. The invite process usually means either entering online promotions or long waiting lists. Letting go of this practice should boost the company's sales quite a lot.

Three OnePlus X models will be available for no-strings-attached purchase, as part of the move, in Champagne Gold and Onyx Black. The exclusive edition Ceramic is also part of the program.

Just as a reminder, the OnePlus X Ceramic sports the same specs as the Onyx Black, but the main difference between the devices lies in the finishing and premium feel the Ceramic model brings.

The Onyx launched in India at a price of Rs. 16,999 ($250), while the limited edition Ceramic asked the buyers to shell out Rs. 22,999 ($338) for one.
