Google makes traveling a lot easier with Destinations, taking care of every other preparation except for packing.

The company found out that smartphone users frequently search for questions about traveling, noting that there's a 50 percent increase from the year before. That's why it added this new nifty feature to the mobile.

Everyone can now have their vacation options laid out in front of them on their handsets thanks to Destinations. It can help them decide where and when to go and what activities they can do there, and it can even assist in getting affordable flights and booking hotels.

What's more, it's fairly easy to use.

How Destinations On Google Works

If you search for a country, continent or state with the word "destination" on Google, it will pull up a selection of locations you can head off to. Powered by Google Flights and Hotel search, you can easily compare prices and see the available flights. Moreover, you can tailor the results to fit right in your budget.

You can also search for a destination coupled with an activity you'd like to do. Google listed the examples "Spain surfing," "New Zealand hiking" and "Colorado skiing," and searching for combinations such as those will yield locations that correspond to them.

Also, the Flexible Dates filter will let you find out when the best time to travel is within a time range. That means you'll get the cheapest fares at the tap of a button.

It's going to be a big downer when you go to another country only to find that the weather is not exactly fair or that it's too crowded with other tourists. That's when the Explore tab comes in, as it gives the weather information and when people usually travel to a destination.

Once you've got your destination, select "Plan a trip." The feature will show the highest and lowest rates for the next six months so that you can find the perfect trip. You can even refine the results through the pencil icon placed on the upper right corner of the screen and modify the "number of stops, hotel class and the number of travelers."

If you already have a destination in mind, you can search for a specific place plus the word "travel" and tap on the travel guide option to know where to go in a particular place. Google gave the example "Spain travel," and if you search for that, you'll get the suggestions of travel itineraries based on the history of other travelers who visited Spain before.

Needless to say, you're still responsible for booking the flights and hotels. You'll find that on the other tab, which is essentially Google Flights and Hotel search rolled into one.

One last thing about Destinations: it's only available on the mobile, and it doesn't look like there'll be a desktop version any time soon.

At any rate, what Google has brought to the table just made traveling virtually hassle-free. Of course, the company also goes beyond the air transport, as it also puts in a lot of effort in Google Maps for the travelers who prefer to stick on the road.
