Some cars and trucks are just made to last longer than others.

With regular maintenance, some vehicles can run for 200,000 miles and beyond. That's what a report from iSeeCars.com revealed, as it screened 12 million used vehicles sold in 2015, ranging from model years 1981 and later with the goal of pinpointing the highest percentage of sales in which the vehicles' odometer read at least 200,000 miles.

The results? The top 10 list of vehicles with at least 200,000 miles was dominated by trucks and SUVs, with 6 percent of used Ford F-250 Super Duty trucks having 200,000-plus miles being in the top spot, more than living up to the automaker's mantra of being "Built Ford Tough." Rounding out the top five was the Chevy Silverado 2500HD (5.7 percent), Toyota 4Runner (5.2 percent), Ford Expedition (5 percent) and the Chevrolet Suburban (4.8 percent).

iSeeCars wasn't exactly surprised by the findings of its report, considering trucks and large SUVs are built to take and endure more wear and tear.

"Manufacturers build trucks with these demands in mind and stake their reputations on how long their trucks will last. Longevity is even a major focus of their marketing campaigns," Phong Ly, CEO of iSeeCars.com, said as part of the website's report. "Also, owners who are dependent on their vehicle to get from one job site to the next are going to pay closer attention to their vehicles' regular maintenance or repairs because their livelihood depends on keeping their trucks in good operating condition."

After trucks and large SUVS filled out the next three spots on the list, the first sedan on the list to make the cut of most sold with at least 200,000 miles was none other than the Toyota Avalon, with used models being sold at a 2.7  percent clip last year.

Excluding trucks and SUVs altogether, Japanese automakers, led by Toyota, Honda and Subaru, dominated the list of used models with upward of 200,000 miles, with the Honda Accord right behind the Avalon with 2.3 percent.

It's good to know what models have placement on this list, as it may even influence future car owners over which vehicle to purchase.
