The much-awaited "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is finally coming to theaters- just a week's worth of wait now- and fans would think that they are finally going to be able to see everything Director Zack Snyder has in store for the two and a half hour, PG-13 rated film. It turns out, Snyder is still keeping something up his (DVD) sleeve because the DVD version is not only given an R-rating, it is also a half hour longer than the theatrical versions we will all see on March 25.

The most obvious reason for this is, of course, for the Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA) to give the film a PG-13 rating but the other reason is that Snyder did not want to release a three-hour film in cinemas even if Warner Brothers did not mind indulging the fans.

"We were just like, 'Okay, look. We're not making a three-hour movie. I mean, even I didn't want to make a three-hour movie'... I drove the cuts probably harder than anyone [...] Let's also not forget the credits are super long, the end credits," Zack said.

The Ultimate Edition DVD did not receive its R-rating because of nudity but from violence. Then again, it should not be a surprise if much of the violence has been cut from the theatrical release to achieve a PG-13 rating. After all, Snyder already revealed that, like "Man of Steel," his film will feature a much darker Superman and Batman who are closer to their original comic book versions.

Deborah Snyder, Zack's wife and producer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," also clarified an issue going around the Internet with regard to the DVD's R-rating.

"Online, everyone's like, "Oh, they're doing an R-rated in reaction to Deadpool," and you're like, "We didn't just shoot it last week, and we also didn't edit it last week," she said.

"The why of that is [the DVD version] is a half-hour longer, and some of that additional material is some of the stuff we took out for the rating. I was like, "Cool, I can put it back in for the director's cut." There was nothing by design. This was the material I just put back in [...]," Zack adds.

The DVD is not just called "Ultimate Edition" because of the removed violent scenes. Snyder also revealed that some of the less major characters have an expanded storyline that they had to remove during post-production to lessen the length of the film. What else? Easter eggs and a lot of them.

"[There's] just a lot of these Easter Eggs in the Director's Cut that I think are gonna be fun for everyone." Zack revealed. It will definitely be fun because the Snyders are also involved in succeeding DC Comics and Warner Brothers films so we can hardly wait to get a glimpse of those Easter eggs.

But before all that, let's watch "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" when it arrives in theaters on March 25.

While we all wait, watch the stars of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" weigh in on whose side they are on. Best answer goes to Brandon Routh.
