T-Mobile has announced its LG G5 launch plans. The carrier will begin taking preorders on March 29, release the smartphone on April 1, and include a bunch of free gifts for a limited time.

Samsung and LG both announced their latest flagship smartphones on the same day at Mobile World Congress in February. While Samsung has already been selling the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge around the world for about one week now, LG is still preparing to release the LG G5.

LG just announced it would release the LG G5 G5 on April 1 in the U.S. and now T-Mobile has just announced its LG G5 launch details. The company posted the following to its website announcing the news.

"Ain't anything but an LG thang, baby Starting March 29th, customers can order the brand new LG G5 at T-Mobile.com, two days before it's available in T-Mobile stores nationwide for the April 1st national launch.

As an added incentive, customers that purchase the G5 before April 17th will qualify for a free LG Battery Bundle, an $80 value that includes a battery and docking station. And for those early birds that purchase before April 5th - T-Mobile will also throw in the new LG 360 CAM, a $200 value (while supplies last)."

The LG G5 packs in a 5.3-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD display with a pixel density of 554 pixels per inch (ppi), which is built using Corning Gorilla Glass 4 to protect the smartphone's screen. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU (graphics processing unit), and 4 GB of RAM to provide a snappy user experience. The handset ships with 32 GB of internal storage, microSD expansion slot to further increase its space, and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The LG G5 boasts a unique dual-rear camera that uses 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors and includes laser autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for video chat and selfies. LG is one of the only smartphone makers delivering a flagship handset with a removable battery and the G5 packs in a 2,800 mAh battery and includes support for Quick Charge 3.0, which promises to deliver up to an 83 percent charge in only 30 minutes.

One of the LG G5's main attractions that sets itself apart from any other smartphone on the market is its modular metal case. Users can add different hardware modules to the smartphone by sliding off the bottom of the device. T-Mobile will be including an extra battery that takes advantage of this feature, in addition to a docking station.

T-Mobile will make the LG G5 available to purchase for $0 down and 23 monthly payments of $26.25 or full retail price, $629.99. Interested customers can pre-register on T-Mobile's LG G5 page.
