"The most-powerful four-inch phone ever."

As widely speculated leading up to Apple's unveiling event Monday, the company revealed its new four-inch iPhone SE, which touts the same CPU and GPU speeds as the 6S ... just in a smaller package.

Although Apple vice president Greg Joswiak took the stage, saying that "the vast majority of our customers prefer these larger display iPhones," in reference to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s ... "for some people, they simply love smaller phones."

Couldn't have been said better, as the 6S's size clearly isn't for everybody. That and the four-inch display allows Apple to stand out amongst its competition that much more, as nobody else is making a prominent smartphone in this size ... at least for now, that is. Anything that makes Apple a trendsetter is that much more valuable to the company's brand as well.

Apple CEO Tim Cook talked up the demand for the four-inch smartphone as well, adding: "Many, many customers have asked for this."

With Apple claiming that the SE has incredible battery improvements across the board, the new iPhone doesn't compromise any style for its smaller size, either, as also evidenced by its 64-bit A9 chip, M9 motion coprocessor and faster LTE. All this makes for a rather compact phone that delivers quite the punch, especially on the gaming front, where Apple played up its power and potential.

In fact, its LTE goes up to 150 Mbps and is 50 percent faster than the iPhone 5S, with the ability to capture 4K video with its 12 megapixel camera. It also comes equipped with an always-on "Hey Siri" feature, enabling users to get information on their phone using Apple's personal digital assistant in a hands-free manner with built-in Apple Pay to make life that much more simple. It will also come standard with Apple's new iOS 9.3, with the company reporting that its iOS 9 has already been adopted on 80 percent of all iOS devices.

The new iPhone SE will be available for preorder beginning March 24 at the starting price of $399 for a 16 GB model and $499 for a 64 GB model. It will then hit stores a week later on March 31.
