For those who are eager about the arrival of the Final Fantasy XV, which is poised to be rolled out in Sept. 30, we have good news: the new, weird Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo is now available.

Square Enix recently announced during an event in Los Angeles, billed "Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV" that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners do not need to wait for the game's official release to get a taste of the much-anticipated title.

What makes it interesting is that this Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo has immediately been made available to download for free via Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The latest demo is more accessible, as the first one was only offered to those who purchased the console port of Final Fantasy Type-0, a PSP game.

The Platinum Demo is different from other game demos as it is not lifted from the official game. Rather, it has a standalone experience and story. What makes the story bizarre is it happens in the mind of Noctis, the main character, when he was still young.

"Final Fantasy XV whisks players away to a fragmented dreamscape, introducing an original story with a few unique twists," says the description page. "Join Noctis and his magical guide as you explore the fantastical world of his dreams."

At the beginning, gamers are able to see a strange creature that appears to look like a unicorn-fox hybrid. This creature only communicates via a smartphone.

Things then start to go crazy. Gamers will drive toy cars and the character will speedily age to combat with a gigantic monster.

Square Enix says, as reported by The Verge, that those who are going to play the demo and the full game will get "some bonuses." The report, though, does not go into the details regarding these bonuses.

The purpose of the Platinum Demo is to give gamers an idea of how the main game will be played, particularly in terms of combat, which is fast and fluid. In addition, players will soon be able to swap weapons swiftly through the directional pad.
