Recently, Microsoft and Undead Labs announced that State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition is currently being ported to the Xbox One for release in spring 2015. However, no one talked about the rumored State of Decay MMO, but today we managed to learn a few things about this unannounced zombie game.

We already knew that Undead Labs was planning to launch a State of Decay MMO title in the future after entering a multiyear deal with Microsoft. No doubt this zombie MMO will take full advantage of Microsoft Azure cloud platform in hopes to give gamers the best zombie experience on both PC and the Xbox One.

Today, this plan gained a lot of rootings after Undead Labs announced that it had hired a veteran from Blizzard who goes by the name, Patrick Wyatt. For those who are unaware, Blizzard is mainly known for the most popular MMO on PC right now, World of Warcraft.

Interestingly enough, Wyatt is also a co-founder of Guild Wars' "ArenaNet," and one of the founding members of En Masse, the publisher of Tera.

Clearly, it is easy to tell that this man has years of experience when it comes down to creating large multiplayer games. This is his space of expertise, so for Undead Labs to hire him could only mean one thing, the developer is creating an MMO.

"I can't talk anything about what I'm working on here at Undead Labs ... yet. ... But ... I specialize in developing really big multiplayer games. So I guess maybe I'll be working on something like that, at least as soon as I get one of the cool lab coats everyone around here has," says Patrick Wyatt in a blog post.

It is not certain how long we would have to wait for this potential State of Decay MMO. It could very well show its head as part of the Year-One Survival Edition in 2015, or it we might find out that it is a whole new game.

To be honest here, we would prefer if even some form of multiplayer is added to the Year-One Survival Edition, because what then would be the point of releasing this game on the Xbox One when Sony has its own H1Z1 MMO like free to play zombie game in the works.

It would be a disgrace, and we hope Microsoft and Undead Labs come to realize this sooner rather than later.
