The Garage division of Microsoft launched the Hub Keyboard app for Android devices in February. The app allows users to access their Office files and contacts without having to switch apps, and comes with a built-in translation button.

The app has now also come to the iOS, allowing iPhone and iPad users to enjoy the conveniences that the Hub Keyboard brings.

The Hub Keyboard is now available on the App Store as a free download, with a small size of 21.2 MB. In the app's description, Microsoft states that the app brings information from different services to the user to help finish tasks faster.

The app allows users to easily insert the last text copied within the iPhone or iPad, and for users that sign in with their Office 365 accounts, it can also allow users to acquire and share the URLs of Office 365 documents stored in OneDrive and SharePoint. Lastly, the app allows the easy sharing of information of a contact from the device or from the user's Office 365 account.

To do all this, the app mixes a minimalist keyboard with a new row of icons at the top of the keyboard, which include the clipboard button, the documents button and the contact button.

It should be noted that there are differences when comparing the Android version and iOS version of the Hub Keyboard. For example, the iOS version of the app is only able to paste the most recently copied text, compared to the Android version that can access a list of all previously copied items. In addition, the translation feature seems to be missing in the iOS app.

There is no indication on whether these features will arrive for the iOS version of the Hub Keyboard on a future update.

Apple device users looking to try out the app should have their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running iOS 9.1 or higher.
