The HTC 10 is nearly here and benchmark tests are shedding light on the flagship's specs sheet, which packs top Qualcomm performance.

HTC's newest handset will join the platoon of premium phones that came out this year and the full spec sheet completely supports this claim.

Both Geekbench and GFXBench showcased in great detail the potential of the upcoming HTC device. Although HTC only talked about "performance," the leaked benchmark information clarifies that we are looking at the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Qualcomm itself teased as much.

The chipset proved to be the market's fastest silicon, and it provides processing power to both the Galaxy S7 (U.S. variant) and the LG G5. The quad-core features two Kryo chips clocked at 2.1 GHz and two other Kryos running at 1.6 GHz.

The HTC 10 holsters a bludgeoning 4 GB of RAM, matching Samsung and LG's recently launched flagships. The default storage size will be 32 GB, giving it an edge over rivals that begin at 16 GB of internal storage.

The screen on the new HTC 10 is a 5.1-incher that can display Quad HD resolutions. This means that the upcoming phone will be on par with the visually enticing Galaxy S7.

While most mobile tech fans expected to see these specs, the real surprise sprouts in the camera combo area. Previous flagships from the OEM were somewhat lackluster in the mobile photography department, but that trend is about to change. Some older rumors claimed that the HTC 10 will come carrying a 12-megapixel rear camera, such as rival Nexus 5X and Galaxy S7 devices.

GFXBench's report shows that the main sensor packs 11 megapixel. However, it should be noted that the number fits a 4:3 format. The main camera is able to take 4K video footage. The manufacturer already teased its fans with the phrase "world-class cameras" when referring to the digital imaging capabilities the HTC 10 will have to offer.

Software-wise, we know that the phone comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed and an updated version of HTC Sense 8.0.

On paper, the phone seems more than capable of delivering ultra-high levels of performance. We look forward to hearing the manufacturer make the official announcement on April 12 and revealing the finalized design concept of its latest flagship.
