After months of leaks, HTC is about to make its next-generation smartphone official at a press event on April 12. New pictures of the HTC 10 have just leaked and show off the white variant from the front and back.

Android smartphone fans witnessed two of the biggest players in the game debut their 2016 flagship smartphones at this year's Mobile World Congress in February. Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge at the trade show and the pair appears to be an even bigger hit than last year's Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.

LG took the wraps off of the LG G5, which was a complete departure from last year's G4. The new flagship traded in its less than premium plastic case construction for a more premium metal build, which is also modular, allowing users to slide out the bottom of the smartphone to replace the smartphone's battery, in addition to adding new hardware to the G5 through this new port.

It's now HTC's time to join its rivals and get its latest and greatest flagship smartphone into consumer's hands. The company has been teasing the smartphone, the HTC 10 for the last couple of weeks and even made it a point to talk up the handset at Mobile World Congress after Samsung and LG announced the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and G5. It promised a "very, very compelling camera experience" after seeing the competition and later promised its new smartphone would feature "world first, world class" front and rear cameras. It also confirmed the handset would include a new BoomSound audio feature, which will please fans who were concerned it was possibly being dropped since leaked images showed the HTC 10 not sporting front-facing speakers like that of its predecessors.

Now, with only a few days before HTC officially takes the wraps off of the HTC 10, new images of the smartphone have leaked. The latest images show the white variant of the handset, providing a close up of the smartphone's 5.1-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD display, capacitive buttons, and Home button with embedded fingerprint scanner. Another photo shows the HTC 10's rear case, which will use a new chamfered edge design.
