Rumor has it that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 phablet will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipset.

Samsung has already launched its first flagship mobile phone - the Galaxy S7 - during the 2016 Mobile World Congress (MWC) and now smartphone enthusiasts are waiting for the Korean company to reveal the Galaxy Note 6.

The next-generation Samsung phablet is likely to be unveiled in late August or early September this year and include top-notch features just like its predecessors.

Samsung has not revealed anything about the Galaxy Note 6 but speculations are high that a Snapdragon 823 SoC will power the device. The chipset is said to pack in 64-bit class Kryo quad cores, a 720MHz Adreno 530 graphics engine and a Hexagon Digital Signal Processor (DSP).

In 2015, the Galaxy S6 as well as the Galaxy Note 5, were released only with an Exynos processor. However, this year the Galaxy S7 is available in two variants: one with Exynos chip and the other with Snapdragon 820 processor, which means that Samsung may launch two versions of the Galaxy Note 6 as well.

Other rumors of the Galaxy Note 6 suggest that it may tout a 5.8-inch slim RGB AMOLED screen with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels QHD resolution. The handsets in the Galaxy Note series are well-known for its high performance. While 4 GB of RAM is becoming a standard in high-end mobile devices, rumors point that the Galaxy Note 6 may come with 6 GB of RAM.

The camera of the Galaxy Note 6 may also see improvements. The phablet may be equipped with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with Super Optical Image Stabilization System, which will allow users to take high quality images even in low-light conditions.

The Galaxy Note 5 did not have a microSD card, the omission of which was criticized by many smartphone buyers. However, speculations are rife that Samsung may introduce a microSD card slot in the Galaxy Note 6, which can be used for expanding the memory of the device.

The Galaxy Note 5 is not water or dust proof. However, the Galaxy Note 6 may be IP68 certified, which means that the smartphone will be completely dust- and water-resistant for 30 minutes in 1.5 meter deep water.

Qualcomm is yet to officially announce the Snapdragon 823 SoC, which means that rumors regarding the processor in any upcoming phone should be taken with a pinch of salt.
