After more than a year since it was initially introduced, Razer’s Turret wireless keyboard and mouse combo is at long last available for sale at a whopping $160 price tag.

This Razer Turret keyboard is built to be used on the couch in front of the TV and on gamers’ lap.

“The Razer Turret brings the immense world of PC gaming to a previously impossible frontier – the living room – where only consoles have traditionally roamed until now,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer's co-founder and chief executive officer. “Finally, we have a perfect solution for gamers to enjoy the unrivaled precision of a mouse and keyboard combination from the comfort of the couch with the durability and reliability that PC gamers demand.”

Specifically, this bundle comes with a gaming-grade backlit chiclet keyboard, a Bluetooth mouse along with a fold-out magnetic mousepad mounted on the right of the keyboard.

Features and Specs

The keyboard sports chiclet-style keys and Android buttons along with a 1,500 mAh Li-Po battery. Razer claims the keyboard’s battery life can last for around four months, depending, of course, on how owners use it.

With regard to its mouse, it is crammed with a 3,500 DPI sensor and a 1,000 mAh Li-Po battery. It is designed to have a slightly magnetized bottom so it does no slip off the magnetic mouse mat. Razer says that the battery can deliver up to 40 hours.

The mouse mat, in the meantime, is attached to the keyboard by means of pin locks and a hinge system. It appears that the mousepad only works on the keyboard’s right side.

One can connect the entire thing to a gaming console via Bluetooth LE and to a PC through its 2.4 GHz wireless adaptor.

The charging dock seems to be part of the package.

Price

The Razer’s Turret lapboard carries a price of $159.99, a little higher than the $129.99 that the company announced when it was unwrapped during the CES 2015.

A few months after it was launched, the company now wants a higher price for the Turret. It is presumed that it packed a few enhancements to the device in the past months, which is why this latest version is a bit more expensive.

A report from Gizmodo, though, thinks this Razer’s solution is quite pricey.

“You’ll also have to hide it when other people come over, because it only really belongs in a 14-year-old’s bedroom,” it adds.

Razer is the company behind the micro gaming console Razer Forge TV that runs on Android.
