Snapchat released an update to its app for iOS that now allows its users to apply the new moving emojis to their videos.

First launched on Android about a week ago, the new augmented reality feature called "3D Stickers" consists of emojis that can be pinned to objects. These emojis then stay attached to the object and can move with it.

Previously, Snapchatters could add emojis to both their photos and videos, but they would just remain stationary. However, being able to add moving emojis lets users become more creative when it comes to shooting and sharing videos on the platform.

For example, users can place the dog emoji on the face of their dog as they are recording it doing some funny trick, or pin the cat smiley face emoji to their cat's face as it moves across the frame.

There is also no limit to the amount to emojis that can be tracked in the video. You can draw a city skyline and have cars and the running man emoji racing past as they move with your pen. The options to tell stories in AR with these emojis are endless.

Here's How to Use Snapchat's 3D Stickers for iOS:

1. Record the video: First, you have to make sure that you update the app to its most current version, 9.28.0.0. Then, open the app and start recording a video like you normally would by pressing down on the shutter button.

It's important to note that you aren't using this feature like you would a lens, which is selected before creating the snap. Instead, you have to record first and then add the emoji(s) of your choice.

2. Add the emoji: Once the video is recorded, tap on the icon on the upper right-hand corner next to the "T" for text that looks like a folded piece of paper. This will bring up all the emojis available, which includes the entire emoji keyboard for iOS.

3. Edit your emoji: You found the emoji you want to use, but it might not be perfect yet. Pinch and zoom to make it larger or smaller and rotate it to how you want it to be displayed.

4. Assign it to an object: Now, it's time to pin the emoji to an object you want it to appear on in your video. To do so, press and hold the emoji to the object or location you want to it go. This would mean pressing down on your cat's head or the tip of your pen. A white circle will appear that means it's tracking, and once it stops, you are free to stop pressing down.

5. Time to share: You successfully mastered the augmented reality feature. Now, share it!

3D Stickers are so simple to use, but it might take a few tries to get them right, especially when adding multiple emojis so that you have the ones you want to move. Just remember that practice makes perfect.
