Dark Souls - The Board Game continues to get the massive support it deserves, reaching the milestone of $2 million and unlocking all the stretch goals.

When the Kickstarter campaign started, it achieved the goal of £50,000 or about $72,000 in only three minutes, and within 24 hours, it went on to hit the $1 million mark. That goes to show just how much the fans want the game to happen.

At the time of this writing, the campaign still has 19 days to go, and already there are 16,578 backers with the total fund going all the way up to £1.6 million or about $2.36 million — and yes, the number just keeps on getting higher and higher every moment.

Now that the pledged amount has gone beyond £1.6 million, all 54 stretch goals have been unlocked, particularly the Crimson Set and Dark Set.

Steamforged Games created Dark Souls - The Board Game in collaboration with Bandai Namco, and they describe it as a "strategically challenging, deeply immersive combat exploration game." For the record, up to four people can play the game.

Those who want to get in on the action can do so at the Kickstarter campaign page. Chipping in £80 or about $116 will give out the board game itself plus all applicable stretch goals, while £200 or about $291 will get them six copies of the game. The folks behind this concoction say the first one is for gamers and the second one is for retailers, keeping things nice and simple.

A lot of people are probably still scratching their heads on how Dark Souls - The Board Game will turn out, but at any rate, the result of a wildly popular video game such as Dark Souls mixed together with the talented hands that brought us Guild Ball is something that's more than worthwhile to wait with bated breath for.

The board game is coming hot behind the April 12 rollout date of Dark Souls 3, and interestingly enough, it's also the most successful title published under Bandai Namco.
