Fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt who are ready to settle back into the shoes of Geralt will soon have an entirely new massive area to explore in the game.

In a recent interview, CD Projekt Red confirmed that the next piece of DLC, "Blood and Wine," will include an area that's as big as the Skellige Isles combined from the base game. Anyone who has played the game already knows how large the Isles are, so that comes as great news for gamers looking to get the most bang for their buck.

The interview, done by GameStar, is in German, but one Reddit user translated it and shared it with fellow fans of the game. Not only did the article mention the size of the DLC, but it also mentioned that the expansion will include a new Gwent Skellige deck, something previously confirmed by the developer.

Unfortunately, the interview did not give a release date for "Blood and Wine," although it states the developer hopes to have it available before E3 in June. A recent report suggests that the expansion may be released on June 7.

There are also no trailers available yet showing off the expansion. Not much else is known about the DLC; the developer has even kept the plot under wraps.

The interview also confirmed that CD Projekt Red has no plans to remaster the first two games of The Witcher franchise or to offer a bundle of all three games in a special collection. There is a possibility, though, that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will get a Game of the Year edition, including all DLC.

Although asked about the status of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's next big game, the developer stated it couldn't really talk about that title just yet. Right now, its focus is solely on The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released last year and follows Geralt, the main protagonist from the previous games in the franchise. In the game, Geralt must save his protege, Ciri, from the Wild Hunt, who would steal her away from the world and keep her as their own. Ciri's fate depends on the choices that the player makes, as Geralt, during gameplay.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
