Tesla Model 3 subscribers have a reason to be excited. Tesla's boss Elon Musk confirmed via Twitter on April 29 that the company's most affordable car to date will have a Ludicrous mode.

Responding to a query on Twitter, Musk said that the $35,000 car will come with the awesome Ludicrous mode option, which Tesla unveiled last year. This mode allows another model, the Model S, to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 2.8 seconds.

The heavier Tesla Model X, in the meantime, can hit 60 miles per hour in only 3.2 seconds when the Ludicrous mode is enabled.

This nifty feature does not come standard for the Model X P90D and Model S P90D, though. Consumers have to shell out a whopping $10,000 to have the upgrade.

What is not clear at the moment is if the Ludicrous mode for the Model 3 could also go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just close to 3 seconds, much like what the other Tesla models can deliver in the same mode.

At the moment, details are still scarce, since Musk only replied a short but sweet "of course" to the question on Twitter.

Word has it, though, that this mass market vehicle will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds, which makes Tesla fans — particularly those who are targeting a Model 3 — pretty excited.

In any case, the Ludicrous mode will certainly be a welcome treat to Tesla Model 3 owners in the future.

In related Tesla news, Musk also confirmed via Twitter that Tesla is slated to push out more "cowbells" or extra features to the Model X and Model S down the road. Replying to a question posted by Twitter user James Decker on whether there would be any more of these cowbells coming via software updates soon, Musk said: "for sure :)"

The company also recently pushed out a software update that contains what seems to be a Mario Kart-themed Easter egg, which transforms the road on the digital dashboard into a rainbow.
