When a new iPhone is about to come out, we love to hear about all the new bells and whistles added to the updated device. With the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, one of these new features that we just couldn't wait to try was Live Photos.

Live Photos is the camera feature that gives images a touch of magic. Not to be mistaken with a video, Live Photos is a moving still image. Similar to a GIF, the iPhone camera captures almost two seconds of moving video before and after the photo is taken to be able to bring it to life. The user can then press on the captured image using 3D Touch, and it then starts to move.

Live Photos can only be taken on an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, but those on older devices that run on iOS 9 and Macs running on OS X El Capitan can still view them. This is done by long-pressing on the image for it to play like a video. The only problem is your finger seems to get in the way.

Even though those with older iPhones can still kind of see the Harry Potter-like images, it's not the same as being able to get artistic ourselves with the types of photos we take.

Now, anyone with an older iPhone will be able to take Live Photos like the hot shots in the iPhone 6s squad by using this app.

We're talking those with iPhone 6, 5s, 5 and even older devices. All you need is an Apple smartphone, its camera and the app.

Properly called Camera for Live Photos, this app is completely free to download and will do exactly what Live Photos does.

Developed by 7th Gear, the app woks by capturing a few seconds of "video" to be able to create the moving image. The display looks similar to Snapchat, where there is a shutter button that the user must press and hold down. Make sure the image you want to capture is in focus, and start filming.

There is the option to use the front or rear camera to create your Live Photo copycat, as well as the ability to turn on the flash in low-light settings.

Once the "video" is captured, it automatically saves to the user's photos. Just press down on the image and it will start moving. You can do so anywhere on the screen, so you don't have to worry about your thumb blocking your view.

The image can then be exported as a video or GIF, which can then be saved or shared on social media. Save as a GIF and then set up the wallpaper to be able to have the perfect background.

With this app, you no longer have to suffer from FOMO after deciding to wait for the iPhone 7.

There might be many features you still don't know about your iPhone, but at least now, everyone can capture these types of moving images.

Camera for Live Photos is available to download for free for iOS.
