Warner Bros. has made an annual tradition of releasing a gigantically wide banner poster for each of its "The Hobbit" films. The last movie in the prequel trilogy arrives this Christmas, so the powers-that-be decided that it's time to unleash the final banner.

Here it is:

There are a number of moments tillustrated in the banner that come straight out of the movie (and the book). From left to right, there's: Bard's final showdown with the dragon Smaug in Lake-Town; the White Council under attack, likely during the titular battle; a moment symbolizing the rift that develops between Thorin (now on his throne in Erebor) and Bilbo; Legolas and Tauriel in battle atop the Lonely Mountain; Thranduil leading his Elves to war; Thorin taking some of his Dwarves into the fight; and Bilbo and Gandalf at an indeterminant moment on the battlefield.

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo's frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain.
