Xiaomi released a series of promotional videos for its upcoming Mi Max to further hint at the expected features of the device.

The Mi Max is scheduled to be officially announced on May 10, along with the MIUI 8. The OEM's flagship, the Mi 5, was revealed in February.

The Xiaomi Mi Max will be the company's first venture into the giant phablet market. It is expected to feature a massive 6.44-inch Full HD display with a pixel resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. The rest of the specs, such as a Snapdragon 650, 2 or 3 GB RAM and 16 or 32 GB internal storage, will qualify the device as belonging to the mid-range category.

Along with the promotional videos, images of the Mi Max were also spotted in the Weibo account of Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun. The photos show how the Mi Max blends well in the environment with its vibrant display and images that seem to come alive. One image that shows the Mi Max on its side has the caption "Big and Thin." Xiaomi used the same big and thin concept in a recent teaser, showing how the Mi Max can slip inside one's pocket despite its huge size.

Some of Mi Max's key features touted in the videos include fantastic filter, big memory, huge screen, hefty battery and faster response. Various location settings featured include the Mi Max photo studio, a river, a military tent and a flower garden.

One new detail that was revealed about the upcoming Mi Max is the phablet's SIM and microSD card combo tray. It features a micro SIM and nano SIM combo as opposed to the more common dual SIM combo (with SIMs of the same size) normally found among handsets made by Chinese OEMs.

A few days ago, we reported on the Mi Max's TENAA certification as revealed in a Weibo post. The post also unveiled the device as being designed with a metal build and having features such as a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera and a fingerprint scanner on the rear.

The soon-to-be announced Mi Max will reportedly retail at around $200. It remains to be seen just how the Mi Max will perform after its official launch on May 10. Until then, check out the teaser videos below.
