Microsoft rolls out the new Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14342 to users in the Fast Ring.

A quick look at the changes indicate there's a slew of issues ironed out, a couple of improvements to Skype and several updates to the aesthetics, but out of the bunch, the new stuff for the Edge browser stands out.

Microsoft Edge: Extensions

All available extensions are now available at the Windows Store as opposed to extracting and loading them from a local folder.

This goes without saying, but users will have to install the extensions again via the Store, and in the future, they will be downloaded and installed automatically.

On an interesting note, AdBlock and Adblock Plus are also up at the Store, including other notable mentions such as Microsoft Translator, Mouse Gestures, and Reddit Enhancement Suite.

Microsoft Edge: Real-Time Web Notifications

With the user's permission, select websites can now send notifications through the Action Center. Tapping on one will pull up Edge with the site that it came from.

Microsoft Edge: Swipe Navigation

As a fan-favorite feature, the swipe gesture has made a comeback. Users can now swipe anywhere on a page to navigate back to the previous page.

Bash On Ubuntu On Windows

Symlinks under the Windows Subsystem for Linux now work with mounted Windows directories, and non-Latin usernames can now install Bash on Ubuntu on Windows.

Skype

Users can now pick a dark theme for Skype and switch around numerous accounts on the messaging platform.

Windows Ink

The Windows Ink Workspace icon just got a facelift, making it look more at place with the others in the notification area.

User Account Control

Just like Skype, the User Account Control or UAC dialog now has a dark mode and a blue header. For those who didn't notice, it was yellow before.

Action Center

Users now have the power to close notifications with a middle click. That's the scroll wheel in the middle of the mouse. Also, applying that action to an app will close all the notifications listed under it.

Apps For Websites

Some websites can now be opened with an app, but as of right now, there are no programs that support this. However, Microsoft has already added in a new menu over at Settings > System > Apps in anticipation of the feature.

Feedback Hub

The Feedback Hub will now offer suggestions based on the title and description of the user feedback. This is the company's answer to the complaints about how difficult it is to find the right category for a certain feedback.

Wi-Fi Sense

Unfortunately, Wi-Fi Sense won't let users share Wi-Fi networks with their contacts or automatically connect to networks that contacts have shared with them anymore.

"The cost of updating the code to keep this feature working combined with low usage and low demand made this not worth further investment," Gabe Aul, vice president of Windows and Devices Group Engineering Systems team, says.

Aside from the various fixes for the PC, this list pretty much wraps up everything in the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14342.
