Players have made all kinds of crazy mods for Fallout 4 in the months since the game's release. From new equipment to additional settlement features, there is nothing of which modders haven't thought.

This new creation, however, may be a bridge too far. Japanese modder Higeyosi has added a Thomas the Tank Engine head to Fallout 4's robot-crafting Automatron DLC, making the item usable for creating all kinds of terrifying metal monstrosities. The world of Fallout modding will never be the same.

Bethesda games have a bit of a history when it comes to Thomas the Tank Engine. A mod that turned the dragons from Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim into the seemingly innocent train soon went viral, with the character's train whistle quickly becoming synonymous with a painful death. Thomas the Tank Engine was innocent no longer.

Having only the head of the kid-friendly train attached to a robotic death machine with buzz saws for hands is infinitely more horrifying than a dragon-turned flying train that shoots fire. It's just so unnatural and unnerving. Imagine Thomas the Tank Engine's porcelain face being the last thing you see in the Wasteland, as the unfeeling robot cuts you down, staring into your soul with those unblinking, emotionless eyes. That's definitely not the way anybody wants to go out.

Honestly, we're a little surprising somebody didn't create this sooner, though we kind of wish they hadn't. We are going to have nightmares for weeks. You can check out a video of the mod in action below.

The mod arrives just in time for console players to take it for a spin, as Fallout 4 mod support will finally be arriving on the Xbox One later this month. Mods for the PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4 will follow sometime in June. May will also see the release of Fallout 4's largest expansion to date, Far Harbor. The DLC will add an entirely new area for players to explore and include new quests to complete, gear to find and creatures to defeat. You can read more about Far Harbor here.
